Abbreviated court call

The Thanksgiving holiday resulted in an abbreviated court call in Edgar County Circuit Court. Individuals appearing for the Nov. 19 criminal and traffic call included:

Charges

-Terry L. Baker, 59, Paris, was charged with a Class A misdemeanor driving on a revoked license. The public defender was appointed and a first appearance with counsel was scheduled.

-Scott D. LaBaume, 37, Paris, was charged with a Class A misdemeanor driving on a suspended license. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for a first appearance with counsel.

-Brian D. Pryor, 56, no address provided, was charged with a Class 4 felony financial identity theft. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for the preliminary hearing.

-Amber N. Roberts, 36, Paris, was charged with a Class A misdemeanor battery. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for a first appearance with counsel.

Guilty pleas

-Austin N. Keys, 19, Paris, was charged and pleaded guilty to a Class B misdemeanor speeding. He was sentenced to a $300 fine, court costs and various state fees.

-Mark A. Wolfe, 34, Paris, was charged and pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor driving on a suspended license charge. He was sentenced to one year of conditional discharge, a $300 fine, court costs and various state fees.

Not guilty pleas

-Jonathan R. Byrnes, 20, Tomah, Wis., pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to a Class 3 felony possession of methamphetamine charge and a Class A misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The matter was continued for a pretrial conference.

-Alan W. Huber, 55, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to a Class B misdemeanor speeding and the matter was continued for a pretrial conference.

-Kayla J. McElheny, 30, Hillsdale, Ind., pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to a Class B misdemeanor speeding charge. A pretrial conference was scheduled.

-Foster W. Miller, 20, Paris, pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to a Class 4 felony possession of a hypodermic syringe charge. A pretrial conference was scheduled.

-James P. Mitchell, 48, Charleston, pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to a Class B misdemeanor speeding charge. The matter was continued for a pretrial conference.

-Tracy L. Parker, 53, Paris, pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to a Class A misdemeanor domestic battery and a Class B misdemeanor speeding charges. The matter was continued for the preliminary hearing.

-Kathryn M. Smith, 26, Rockville, Ind., pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to two counts of a Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance and a Class A misdemeanor retail theft charges. A pretrial conference was scheduled.

-Corey T. Webster, 22, Chrisman, pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to a Class A misdemeanor speeding charge. The matter was continued for a pretrial conference.

Other matters

-Timothy L. Johnson, 65, Chrisman, was sentenced for a Class A misdemeanor driving on a suspended license conviction to one year of conditional discharge, a $300 fine, court costs and various state fees.

Warrants

Warrants were prepared and issued when the following individuals failed to answer the court call: Terry G. Baugh, 52, Paris; Shawn M. Caballero, 20, Indianapolis, Ind.; Richard E. Durbin, 41, West Terre Haute, Ind.; Albert L. Elkins, 52, Terre Haute, Ind.; Alec R. Mockbee, 20, Hoopeston; Lisa D. Murr, 44, Brazil, Ind.; Joshua A. Newbold, 42, Terre Haute, Ind.; and Christopher D. Strand, 36, Paris.
