Ducharme faces more charges

A Vermilion man appeared in custody of the Edgar County Sheriff's Department Oct. 17 and is facing new felony allegations adding to his long list of unresolved felony accusations.

Tyson W. Ducharme, 34, Vermilion, was charged with two counts of a Class 2 felony burglary, a Class 4 felony criminal trespassing and a Class A misdemeanor theft. The public defender was appointed and bond was set at $25,000. The matter was continued for a pretrial conference.

In another matter, Ducharme waived the preliminary hearing and pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to a Class 1 felony residential burglary, a Class 2 felony burglary, a Class 2 felony possession of a stolen title, a Class 3 felony threatening a public official, a Class 3 felony possession of methamphetamine, a Class 4 felony possession of an unauthorized title and a Class A misdemeanor theft charges. The matter was continued for a pretrial conference.

In other cases, Ducharme’s unresolved two counts of a Class 3 felony possession of methamphetamine, two counts of a Class 4 felony domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor aggravated assault, two counts of a Class A misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs and a Class B misdemeanor criminal trespass charges were continued for a pretrial conference. Ducharme was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

In custody

-Katelynn M. Bowman, 22, Paris, appeared in custody for missing a previous court appearance. Her unresolved charges of two counts of a Class 3 felony possession of methamphetamine, a Class B misdemeanor possession of cannabis and a Class A misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia were continued for a pretrial conference.

In a new case, Bowman was charged with a Class A misdemeanor resisting a police officer. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for a first appearance with counsel. She was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

-Ethan R. Daniels, 40, Terre Haute, Ind., appeared in custody for missing a previous court appearance. He was presented with a petition to revoke his probation sentences for a Class 2 felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and a Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance convictions. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for a pretrial conference. He was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

-Spencer E. Haley, 28, Paris, appeared in custody and was granted a bond reduction to $18,000 from the original bond of $25,000. His unresolved charges of a Class 3 felony possession of methamphetamine, a Class 4 felony obstruction of justice and a Class 4 felony inducement to commit suicide charges were continued for a pretrial conference. Haley was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

-Brittany N. Harris, 28, Paris, appeared in custody and admitted a petition to revoke her probation sentence for a Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance conviction. The matter was continued for the sentencing hearing. In another matter, her unresolved Class 3 felony possession of methamphetamine, a Class 4 felony possession of a controlled substance, a Class 4 felony obstruction of justice, a Class A misdemeanor possession of a hypodermic syringe and a Class A misdemeanor resisting a police officer charge were continued for a pretrial conference. She was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

-Jennifer M. Herbek, 42, Paris, appeared in custody for missing a previous court appearance. Her unresolved Class 3 felony possession of methamphetamine, a Class 4 felony aggravated driving on a revoked license, a Class 4 felony obstruction of justice and two counts of a Class B misdemeanor criminal trespass charges were continued for a pretrial conference. Herbek was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

-Larry D. Lowry, 47, Kansas, appeared in custody for missing a previous court appearance. His unresolved Class 2 felony burglary, two counts of a Class 3 felony possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony theft, a Class 4 felony theft and a Class 4 felony theft of utility services charges were continued for a pretrial conference. He was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

-Heather D. Mason, 39, Paris, appeared in custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections for a sentencing hearing on a petition to revoke her probation sentence for a Class 4 felony fraud conviction. She was resentenced to 36 months in prison with credit for 101 days served. In exchange for the plea, a Class 3 felony possession of methamphetamine and a Class A misdemeanor retail theft charges were dismissed. Mason was remanded to custody of IDOC.

-Jonathan T. Murray, 23, Paris, appeared in custody and was charged with five counts of a Class 2 felony burglary. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for the preliminary hearing. Murray was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

-Ronald Parker, 18, Paris, appeared in custody. He was charged with a Class X felony armed robbery, a Class A misdemeanor aggravated assault and a Class A misdemeanor illegal possession of a weapon. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for the preliminary hearing. Parker was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

-Travis S. Posey, 37, Paris, appeared in custody for missing a previous court appearance. His unresolved charges of a Class 4 felony obstruction of justice and a Class A misdemeanor obstruction of identification along with his unresolved petition to revoke his probation sentence for a Class 3 felony possession of methamphetamine conviction were continued for a pretrial conference. Posey was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

-Christopher L. Whalen, 27, Paris, appeared in custody and his motion for a bond reduction was denied. His unresolved Class 2 felony failure to register as a sex offender charge was continued for the preliminary hearing.

In another matter, Whalen pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to a Class A misdemeanor domestic battery charge. A pretrial conference was scheduled. Whalen was remanded to custody pending posting of bond.

Charges

-Natalie L. Foltz, 53, Paris, was charged with a Class 2 felony aggravated battery. The public defender was appointed. The matter was continued for a status hearing.

-Nathaniel L. Goodman, 25, Paris, was charged with a Class A misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and a Class A misdemeanor driving under the influence of drugs. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for a first appearance with counsel.

nMatthew M. Morgan, 30, Charleston, was charged with a Class A misdemeanor battery. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for a first appearance with counsel.

-Zachary J. Mulkins, 25, Martinsville, was presented with a petition to revoke his conditional discharge sentence for a Class C misdemeanor disorderly conduct conviction. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for a pretrial conference. In another matter, Mulkins learned the petition to revoke his court supervision sentence for a Class A misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol conviction was withdrawn by the state.

-Brian D. Nicholson, 35, Paris, was charged with a Class A misdemeanor theft of utility services. The public defender was appointed and the matter was continued for a first appearance with counsel.

Guilty pleas

-Dodi A. Trover, 45, Paris, pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor driving on a suspended license. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail subject to the court’s discretion, 18 months of conditional discharge, a $300 fine, court costs and various state fees.

In another matter, Trover pleaded guilty to a Class A misdemeanor driving on a suspended license. She was sentenced to 30 days in jail subject to the court’s discretion and 18 months of conditional discharge to run concurrently with the previous conviction, a $75 fine, court costs and various state fees. In exchange for the guilty plea, a third charge of driving on a suspended license and two petty traffic offenses were dismissed.

Not guilty pleas

-Allison M. Baldwin, 23, Paris, pleaded not guilty with a jury trial demand to a Class A misdemeanor retail theft and a Class B misdemeanor criminal trespassing. The matter was continued for a pretrial conference.

Other matters

-Sherry L. Furgerson, 63, Paris, learned the state withdrew a petition to revoke her conditional discharge sentence for a Class A misdemeanor resisting a police officer conviction. The arrest warrant for missing a previous court appearance was quashed. Her conditional discharge sentence was terminated and the case was closed.

-Jacob L. Neibarger, 24, Paris, was found in violation of his court supervision sentence on a petition to revoke the sentence for a Class A misdemeanor battery conviction. The matter was continued for the sentencing hearing.
