Four members of the CUSD #4 board of education renewed their commitment to Crestwood School during the board’s Wednesday, May 7, meeting.
Following April 1’s consolidated election, Jim Blue, Beth Keys and Shelby Phipps took the oath of office, renewing four-year terms to the school’s board. Mike Reed was appointed to office for the board’s open, unexpired two-year term.
Officers were also elected by members of the board, President – Jim Blue, Vice President – Mike Reed, Secretary – Kit Kirby and Treasurer – Shelby Phipps.
The school board also tackled several personnel matters during the meeting, including the resignations of Cathy Slaven as cheer coach effective May 21, 2025, Shay Beals as girls track coach effective May 21, 2025, and an irrevocable letter of retirement for Andrea Lau effective at the end of the 2028-29 school year.
The board approved the hiring of Shayleigh Bradshaw as a technology teacher, Scott Foster as a substitute bus driver, Kristin Trogdon as a volunteer girls' assistant basketball coach for the 2025-26 school year and Heather Crippes and Bre Astrosky as co-cheer coaches for the 2025-26 school year
Additionally, the board approved a three-year contract for Assistant Principal Sarah Mitchell and a 4.5 percent salary increase for both Principal Meghan Damler and Superintendent Danette Young for the 2025-26 school year.
Part-time school psychologist Kirstin Mills received an increase of $10 per student tested for the 2025-26 school year.
The school board will continue to meet at 5:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month in the media center at the school. All meetings are open to the public.
