Gas leak reported near downtown Paris

Local emergency personnel responded to reports of a gas leak at 223 W. Wood Street, Paris, on Monday, Aug. 28.

The leak, initially reported around 11:45 a.m., occurred after an excavator working in the area accidentally struck the gas line.

At this time, details about the scope of the leak are unknown. The Paris Fire Department responded to the incident.
