Edgar County Coroner Scott Barrett has released preliminary information on the death of a Kansas woman.
Barrett said the body of Shawnna L. Cunningham, 44, was found inside her Kansas home by a family member at 2:40 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18. Following the discovery, a 911 call was immediately placed, and the Kansas Police Department was on scene within minutes of the call.
An autopsy was conducted Tuesday morning, Sept. 19, in Champaign, by forensic pathologist Shiping Bao. Toxicology results from the autopsy are pending.
Barrett said the incident remains under investigation by his office the Kansas Police Department and the Illinois State Police CSI.
