Local racers and race fans packed area tracks for a fun-filled time of full-throttle racing, during the Memorial Day weekend.

Junior dragster driver Aiden Lawson was runner-up Saturday, May 27, at the Bernie Mann No-Delay Race at the Wabash Valley Dragway. Lawson returned to the track Sunday, and made the semi-finals.

Max Scott drove his junior dragster car to the semi-finals Saturday, May 27, at Wabash Valley Dragway.

Sydney Landes was at Lincoln Park Speedway, in Greencastle, Ind., over Memorial Day Weekend. Landes qualified fourth overall and started first in her heat. She won her heat and started third in the feature where she finished fifth.

“It’s never ideal to go backwards, but we will take another top-five finish,” said Landes.

Curt Taylor and the Taylor Racing team was at the Coles County Dragway Saturday, May 27, where he drove his big tire Camaro to runner-up.

Long-time racer Chad Eaton had success at Wabash Valley Dragway with his Chevy Monte Carlo. He won the Sportsman Class during the May 20 races.

Though many of the drivers fell short of the win, they return to the track this weekend searching for a trip to Victory Lane.
