Allen Neil “Fu” Arrasmith, 60, of Paris, passed away at 1:26 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, at his residence. He was a former employee of the U.O. Colson Company, Illinois Cereal Mills and Trailmobile.

A graveside service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Edgar Cemetery. Templeton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Arrasmith was born April 3, 1960, in Paris, the son of the late Robert Neil and Betty Joan Haenig Arrasmith.

Survivors include three brothers, Jerry (Trudy) Arrasmith of Paris, Johnny Arrasmith of Springfield and Shane Arrasmith of Paris; two sisters, Sheila (Stephen) Miller of Toledo and Glenda (Greg) Chappell of Terre Haute, Ind.; several beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a host of dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert N. Arrasmith; his mother, Betty Arrasmith Herrington; a sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Kenny Trover; and an infant sister, Diana Arrasmith.

Mr. Arrasmith was proud to have served as a karate instructor at the Paris YMCA for many years. He will be remembered for his signature red hat, bandana, aviator sunglasses and his talent for keeping peoples’ attention with his often-hilarious stories. He had the ability to converse with anyone, and as a result, anyone who knew him has a Fu story. He was upbeat, energetic, and outgoing, and considered everyone a friend, with the exception of President Trump.

He dearly loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews, and loved spending time with his niece’s dogs, Reese and Spark.

Memorial donations may be made to the Edgar County Animal Shelter.
