Margaret Marie Hoffman slipped from her worn out 86-year-old body into the glorious presence of God Monday morning, Aug. 12, 2019, at the Brian Nursing Home, Clayton, N.C.

A service memorializing the life of Mrs. Hoffman, the daughter of Isom and Bertha Gates Amos, is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Rose/Graham Funeral Home, Benson, N.C.

A celebration of life service is 2 p.m. CST Monday, Aug. 19, at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Paris. Interment follows in Oak Grove Cemetery on the Vermilion Road north of U.S. Route 150. Visitation is from noon until the service time Monday at the church. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is handling the local arrangements.

Mrs. Hoffman is survived by her children, the Rev. Jack D. (Jill) Hoffman of Paris, Cynthia “Cindy” (Gary) Mayberry of Clayton, N.C., Stephen “Steve” (Caryn) Hoffman of Riverview, Mich., and James “Jim” (Risa) Hoffman of Northville, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Jack L. Hoffman in 2005 and two grandchildren. 

A devout and faithful follower of Jesus Christ she is rejoicing today in a place where no tears, pain or suffering is permitted. A faithful Baptist congregant for more than 60 years, Mrs. Hoffman served the Lord in the various churches the Lord led her to throughout her years.

Memorial donations may be made to The Highway Shepherd Ministry in care of Benson Grove Baptist Church, 6966 Hwy 50 North, Angier, N.C. 27504, or to the Cornerstone Baptist Church 15197 US HWY 150, Paris.
