Mary Catherine Alexander, 89, of Paris, passed away at 10:50 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at the Paris Healthcare Center. She was a pediatric nurse in Chicago and Milwaukee, Wis.
A graveside service is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, in Edgar Cemetery, with burial to follow. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home.
Mrs. Alexander was born Oct. 19, 1929, in Edgar County, the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Mary Emma Forbeck Halloran. She married Robert Alexander June 12, 1954, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Paris, and he passed away Jan. 8, 2017.
She is survived by her children, Gregory (Tina) Alexander of Paris, Douglas (Brenda) Alexander of Darmstadt, Ind.; her grandchildren, Casie (Brad) Dennison of Franklin, Tenn., Jamie Yates of Evansville, Ind., Kyle Alexander of Paris and Aaron (Kayla) Alexander of Paris; her great-grandchildren, Crew, Harlow, Navy and Lakelynn; and her siblings, Helen A. McMullen, Jim Halloran, John Halloran and Tom Halloran, all of Paris.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Halloran.
Mrs. Alexander was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Altar Society, Edgar County Home Extension and Community Education and a Volunteer at Paris Community Hospital.
