Paris man found dead in suspected suicide

Details surrounding the death of a Paris man found dead at his residence late Thursday morning have been released by Edgar County Coroner Scott Barrett. 

According to a press release issued by Barrett, emergency personnel responded to a North Main Street residence at 11:31 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024. 

The Paris Police Department and Horizon Health EMS arrived at the scene minutes after the call. Upon their arrival, the coroner was dispatched. 

Jace R. Jackson, 20, of Paris, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

“All available evidence is consistent with a suicidal death,” the coroner’s press release explains.

The incident remains under the investigation of the Paris Police and the Edgar County Coroner.
