Paris native Chelsea Piper, daughter of Linda and John Piper, married Brandon Clinite, son of Jill and Dave Clinite of Winnebago, Sept. 9, 2017, at Beaver Ranch near Conifer, Colo.
The couple wrote their own vows, and their good friend Kyle Johnston from their Denver church officiated at the sunset service in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was escorted by her father to an outdoor chapel area nestled among the tall trees. The maid of honor was Buffy Bailey and bridesmaids were Corie Hasler, Morgan Gibbons and Mary Claire Coleman.
Best man was the groom’s brother, Matt Clinite, and groomsmen were Alex Thompson, Matt Jos and Alex Glenn. Flower girls were the groom’s nieces, Lanie and Mia Kreuz. Guests attending the wedding came from Atlanta, Bloomington, Chicago, Denver, Indianapolis, Rockford, St. Louis, California and Utah among other locations.
Some uninvited guests arrived when mid-way through the ceremony five deer walked behind the altar. They momentarily stopped everything before moving on, but one came back and watched the rest of the ceremony.
The couple met through the Delta Sigma Phi professional business co-ed fraternity chapter at the University of Illinois. The bride is a 2015 finance graduate of the University of Illinois College of Business. She is a senior consultant regarding complex financial reporting for Opportune, LLP, an international oil and gas consulting firm based in Houston, Texas.
The groom is a 2014 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Business. He is a health client manager for Aon Hewitt, a global human capital resource management consultant firm based in Lincolnshire, Ill. They both work at the Denver offices of their respective employers.
A brief honeymoon in Colorado’s wine country around Palisade on the western slope followed the wedding. A more extended honeymoon is scheduled for this summer to Bali, Indonesia, to attend the wedding of a Delta Sigma Pi sister, which will be followed by a trip to Thailand.
