Sept. 22, at 5:57 p.m., the department was dispatched to 414 Chestnut for a possible illegal burn. Firefighters extinguished the fire, and the resident was advised of the city burn ordinance.

Sept. 22, at 7:24 p.m., the department was dispatched to 228 E. Madison for a car accident. No injuries resulted. Firefighters checked the vehicle for hazards and stood by until a tow service cleared the scene.

Sept. 23, at 6:31 p.m., the department was dispatched to a location south of Paris near Five-Mile-Hill for a car/deer accident. Firefighters checked the vehicle for hazards and stood by until a tow service cleared the scene. The Oliver Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District also responded to the call.

Sept. 24, at 2:32 p.m., the department was dispatched to 827 Maple Avenue to assist the Edgar County Sheriff’s Department with an illegal electrical hookup.

Sept. 27 at 2:18 p.m., the department was dispatched to 1507 Marshall for a possible gas leak. Firefighters stood by until AmerenCIPS was on scene.

Sept. 28, at 2:11 a.m., the department was dispatched to 516 Walcott for a structure fire. On scene, heavy smoke was showing at the house. No one was home at the time. No damage estimate was available. The incident remains under investigation by the Paris Fire Department.
