Paris Police Department

Nov. 1, at 8:58 a.m., a two-vehicle accident occurred on Jasper, east of Jefferson. The first vehicle involved was a 2015 Misubishi driven by Emily A. Hires, 34, 110 Kimble. The second vehicle was a 2016 Freightliner owned by A-1 Transit Corporation and driven by Chad W. Storment, 47, Charleston. Both vehicles were damaged. Hires was charged at the scene with failure to yield turning left and was released on a notice to appear in court.

Nov. 1, at 12:45 a.m., Brendan P. Connors, 47, 6 Woodmere Drive, was arrested at 15150 U.S. Highway 150 and charged with retail theft. Connors was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending posting of bond.

Nov. 1, at 4:50 p.m., a two-vehicle accident occurred at Court Street and U.S. Route 150. The first vehicle involved was a 2004 Mercury driven by Terry L. Baker, 59, 717 N. Main. The second vehicle was a 2011 GMC and driven by Elizabeth M. Pastore, 57, West Terre, Haute, Ind. Both vehicles were damaged. Baker was charged at the scene with driving while license revoked and failure to yield at stop intersection. Baker was released on a notice to appear in court.

Paris Fire Department

Oct. 28, at 1:57 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Oct. 28, at 6:39 p.m., the department was dispatched to 917 S. Central for an illegal burn. The fire was extinguished and the resident was advised of the city burn ordinance.

Oct. 29, at 11:33 a.m., the department was dispatched to 10790 E 575th Road for a one-vehicle accident. Upon arrival firefighters found the vehicle upside down in the creek. One patient was transported to the hospital. Firefighters checked the vehicle for hazards. The Grandview Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District also responded to the call.

Oct. 29, at 3:56 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Oct. 30, at 10:22 a.m., the department was dispatched to the Human Resources Center behind the hospital for an automatic alarm. No problems were found at the scene.

Oct. 30, at 9:55 p.m., the department was dispatched to the area of 303 West Monroe for a possible illegal burn. The fire was found at 301 West Monroe and firefighters extinguished the fire. The police department issued a citation to the resident.

Oct. 31, at 2:33 p.m., the department was dispatched to 407 Milton for an activated alarm. No problems were found at the scene.

Oct. 31, at 8:47 p.m., the department was dispatched for a single-vehicle accident one mile south of the Lower Terre Haute Road on Berry Street. Firefighters located a vehicle on its side, but no one was in the vehicle.

Oct. 31, at 9:17 p.m., the department was dispatched for a one-vehicle roll over at the Lower Terre Haute Road and Potts Lane. Firefighters secured the vehicle and stood by for a tow service to clear the scene. The Vermilion Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District also responded to the scene.

Nov. 1, at 8:58 a.m., the department was dispatched to 428 West Jasper for a two-vehicle accident. Firefighters checked the vehicles for hazards. No injuries occurred.

Nov. 1, at 4:48 p.m., the department was dispatched to U.S. Route 150 and Sulphur Springs Road for a two-vehicle accident. Firefighters assisted with loading two patients and checked the vehicle for hazards. The Vermilion Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District also responded to the call.

Nov. 2, at 8:42 a.m., the department was called to 404 East Lincoln by the police department to assist with smoke removal.
