Paris Police Department
Feb. 7, at 1:34 p.m., Billie C. Miller, 28, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested at Jasper and Jefferson on an Edgar County warrant and also charged with retail theft. Miller was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending posting of bond.
Feb. 7, at 8:41 p.m., Jacqui S. Miller, 36, 506 ½ N. Central St., was stopped at Alexander and Monroe and charged with operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Miller was released on a notice to appear in court.
Feb. 8, at 12:28 a.m., Blake B. Sawyer, 31, 235 N. Austin St., was arrested at Alexander and Washington and charged with driving while license revoked, obstructed windshield, obstructing identification, aggravated assault and threatening a public official. Sawyer was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending a court appearance.
Paris Fire Department
Feb. 1, at 11:20 a.m., the department was dispatched to state Route 16, south of 1100 E after a passing semi-truck driver called in a report of seeing flames. Firefighters located a controlled burn at 6927 N 1100.
Feb. 1, at 1:02 p.m., the department was dispatched to 17502 E 1700th Road for a reported barn fire. On scene, a shed was fully involved. The fire was extinguished. The Vermilion Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District also responded to the call.
Feb. 1, at 1:22 p.m., the department was dispatched to the Human Resources Center behind the hospital for an automatic alarm. No problems were found at the location.
Feb. 1, at 5:28 p.m., the department was dispatched to 850th Street for a reported car on fire. On scene, the vehicle was fully involved and the fire was extinguished. The Grandview Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District also responded to the call.
Feb. 3, at 4:20 p.m., the department was dispatched to Central and Lincoln for a reported two-vehicle accident. No accident or vehicles were found at that location.
Feb. 5, at 3:06 p.m., the department was dispatched to Maple and Sheriff for a two-vehicle accident. Firefighters checked the vehicles for hazards and stood by until a tow service cleared the scene.
Feb. 7, at 4:46 p.m., the department was dispatched to Pretium Packaging, 2015 S. Main, for an automatic alarm. On scene, firefighters discovered a pull station was pulled but no problems existed at the location.
