Oct. 2, at 12:54 a.m., Jason R. Ball, 41, no address provided, was arrested at 508 Shaw and charged with violation of order of protection. Ball was transported to the Edgar County Jail pending posting of bond.

Oct. 2, at 3:53 p.m., a two-vehicle, non-injury accident occurred at state Route 1 and Stewart Airport Road. The first vehicle involved was a 2019 Honda Civic driven by Cara L. Fugate, 27, of Terre Haute, Ind. The second vehicle was a 2019 Hyundai Elantra driven by Brenda l. Ladson, 43, Shelburn, Ind. Both vehicles sustained damages. Fugate was cited at the scene with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and was released on a promise to comply.

Oct. 3, at 9:18 a.m., Dinnie C. Limm, 56, Terre Haute, Ind., was stopped at Marshall and Van Buren and charged with illegal passing.

Oct. 3, at 8:52 p.m., George M. Cox, 79, 4 Twin Lakes, was stopped at High and Wood and charged with expired registration. Cox was released on a notice to appear in court.

Oct. 3, at 10:43 p.m., Austin T. Scales, 19, Brocton, was stopped at Elliott and Main and charged with driving while license suspended. Scales was released on a notice to appear in court.

Oct. 3, at 11:11 p.m., Brenda L. Elledge, 64, 223 Andrew St., was arrested at Court and Main and charged with no valid drivers license. Elledge was released on a notice to appear in court.

Paris Fire Department

Sept. 27, at 7:15 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Sept. 27, at 10:54 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Sept. 28, at 10:43 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Sept. 29, at 1:19 p.m., the department was dispatched to 725 West Madison for a reported house fire. On scene, smoke was showing from the rear of the home. The fire was extinguished. No damage estimate was available and the fire remains under investigation.

Sept. 29, at 6:36 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Sept. 30, at 6:25 a.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Oct. 1, at 12:56 a.m., the department was dispatched to Abitech, 1800 S. Main, for an activated alarm. On scene, light smoke was showing from the building and a fire was located at the rear of the building by the loading dock. All three shifts of the Paris Fire Department and the Vermilion Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District assisted with the call.

Oct. 1, at 12:20 p.m., Fire Chief Brian Gates was summoned to Phipps Lane and Marshall Street for a possible hazardous material situation. Gates remained at the scene until the State Fire Marshal arrived and determined no danger existed.

Oct. 1, at 3:48 p.m., the Paris Police Department requested the department’s assistance at Court and Main for fluid cleanup following a vehicle accident.

Oct. 2, at 8:42 a.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Oct. 2, at 11:05 a.m., the department was dispatched to 300 South Eads for an activated alarm. No problems were found at the scene.

Oct. 2, at 7:33 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.
