TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — The arts are the focus for the free Sixth Street ArtsFest in downtown Terre Haute.

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 25, a one-block area of Sixth Street will have 30 regional artists in an artist village between Wabash and Cherry streets. Artwork for sale includes original design jewelry, metalwork, textiles,
watercolors, oil paintings, etched and fused glass, photography and more.

Sullivan County potter Curt Buethe’s space includes a potter’s wheel to provide hands on experience for children. Noted sculptor Bill Wolfe, of West Terre Haute, will demonstrate sculpting techniques while working on a large  Abraham Lincoln bust for a future commission.

Stage performances are scheduled throughout the day and feature Jazz Haute trio; the popular Terre Haute-based band, E Z Street; Academy of Dance; Maple Avenue Methodist Church with excerpts from an upcoming production
of “The Music Man;” and Crossroads Repertory Theatre with excerpts from “A Magical Musical Cabaret.” Seating close to the stage area will allow fest goers th opportunity to sit and enjoy the performances.

The fest also includes a Children’s Creative Area with fun activities from the Swope Art Museum, Art Spaces, the Vigo County Public Library and the Terre  Haute Children’s Museum.

The festival is expanding this year with “A Taste of the District,” with food, including beer and wine, from eateries within the 41|40 Arts & Cultural District.
