Lady Tigers pick up three big wins

It was a big week for the Paris Lady Tigers volleyball team as  they swept three matches against Newton, Dietrich and Casey-Westfield.

Coach Christy Pinkston said Friday the Lady Tigers are playing some of their best volleyball of the season.

“We’re playing well and as a team,” the Paris coach noted. “We’re sticking with the same lineup and we are playing the way we are capable of playing.”

Paris bests Newton

NEWTON — On Monday, the Lady Tigers exacted some revenge on the Lady Eagles of Newton, sweeping them in straight sets,  25-17, 25-14.

It was Newton who defeated Paris last season, denying the Lady Tigers the LIC championship.

“Newton is always super tough and the girls were ready to go,” she said. “It was a team effort.”

STRAIGHT SET VICTORY

DIETRICH — On Wednesday, the Lady Tigers traveled to Dietrich and came away with a straight set victory 25-15, 25-14.

“When we go out, we expect to win,” Pinkston said.

Lady Warriors fall

Finally back home on their own court, the Lady Tigers took care of business Thursday, downing Casey-Westfield 25-15, 25-14.

Pinkston said both Flora and the Lady Tigers are tied for the LIC lead.

“We still have to play Marshall and Lawrenceville,” she said. “We just have to come out and be ready to play. When we play like we’re capable, we’re going to win.”
