CHRISMAN — A six-minute meeting of the Chrisman City Council Thursday, Jan. 6, had only a couple of discussion items.

Sewer Commissioner Brian Haddix reported work is to start next week on the clarifier at the sewage treatment plant. He did not know the exact nature of the work.

Mayor Dan Owen asked Haddix to contact Matt Johnson of Fehr Graham & Environmental for a breakdown of what the engineering firm plans to accomplish.

“That clarifier hasn’t been right since they put it in the ground,” said Owen. “I don’t want to pay any more money until it does what it is supposed to do.”

With the holiday over, Street Commissioner Thad Crispin has scheduled city employees to start removing city owned decorations in the coming week.

Another issue confronting the street crew is leaf removal from drains and alleys.

Crispin said the leaves have been too wet to use a vacuum truck so workers must find another way to deal with the problem.
