Health department has Pfizer vaccine and Six Flags tickets

The Edgar County Public Health Department (ECPHD) now has Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19 in addition to the Moderna vaccine.

Through a special promotion with the Illinois Department of Public Health, newly vaccinated people taking either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine through the ECPHD can receive a free ticket to Six Flags Great America and Hurricane Harbor for each shot for a maximum of two tickets. This only applies to new vaccinations and not people already vaccinated.

Tickets are available only while supplies last.

The Pfizer vaccine is authorized for people 12 years of age and older and is the only vaccine available for those between the ages of 12 and 17. Fully vaccinated students and school staff are not required to quarantine, or test, unless they are symptomatic.

The ECPHD is doing two vaccination clinics 9-11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, and 4-6 p.m. Monday, June 21, at the health department. Visit ecphd.org to sign-up. A link on the website provides a place to enter personal information and print a ticket. The ticket and a signed consent form must be brought to the clinic to receive the vaccine.
