BLUFFTON, S.C. — Debra Lynn Abbott, 66, of Bluffton, S.C., and formerly of Paris, was called home to the Lord at 5:10 p.m. Oct. 19, 2021, with her daughter by her side at MUSC hospital in Charleston, S.C. She was retired from the Air Force.
A celebration of life service is noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, S.C.
Mrs. Abbott was born May 23, 1955, at Paris, the daughter of Virginia and Richard Haws.
She is survived by her mother, Virginia Collier; daughter, Alyssa Pressley; son-in-law, Tony Pressley; and grandchildren, Easton Pressley and Everly Pressley.
After studying Interior Design in Chicago, she joined the Air Force in 1980 where she spent the next 35 years in the service and retired as a major. After her retirement she moved to Bluffton, S.C., to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She treasured her grandchildren and embraced every moment with them.
Mrs. Abbott had a strong faith in God even during the challenges she endured battling multiple myeloma and hemodialysis. She had a love for the Midwestern farmland, a craving for trying new restaurants and a passion for a little retail therapy.
