Jason O’Brien

Jason Christopher O’Brien, 45, of Brownsburg, Ind., and formerly of Paris and Mahomet, passed away at 6:11 p.m. EST Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind., following a lengthy illness.

A memorial visitation celebrating his life is from 1 to 4 p.m. CST March 6, at Templeton Funeral Home.

Mr. O’Brien was born Aug. 18, 1975, in Paris, the son of Patty McWilliams O’Brien and Tom O’Brien. He married Darby Cline Feb. 20, 1999, at First Christian Church in Paris, and she survives.

Other survivors include his parents, Patty and Tom O’Brien of Paris; two sons, Connor and Brody O’Brien, and a daughter, Camryn O’Brien, all at home; a brother, Jeff (Cally) O’Brien and two nephews, Jackson and William O’Brien all of Lincoln, Neb.; his grandfather, Robert “Grampy” McWilliams of Paris; four aunts, Ronda Lake of Paris, Ruth (John) Wormley of Surprise, Ariz., Patty (Peter) Tombasco of Grayslake and  Ethel (Robert) O’Brien of Fredericksburg, Va.; five cousins, Michael John Wormley, Christine (Derick) Mueller, Dan Tombasco, Robin (Scott) Pierpoint and Robert (Vickie) O’Brien; and his parents-in-law, Marilyn and John Camp of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joan McWilliams and Robert and Phyllis O’Brien; and an uncle, Robert O’Brien Jr.

Mr. O’Brien’s career accomplishments included serving as Vice President of Commercial Sales for JP Morgan Chase, Director of IT Services for Angel Learning, CTO for Courseload LLC, Vice President of CaaS Services and Operations, CIO for VMS Bio Marketing and SVP IT Operations for KAR Global.

He was a magician at the age of six, entertaining many throughout central Illinois and Indiana, and was a winner of the Edgar County Talent Show Jr. Division. He was a 1993 graduate of Paris High School. He attended Rose Hulman Institute of Technology prior to earning his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana State University where he was a member of the thespian society. During his college years, Jason was a delivery driver for Joe’s Pizza of Paris and enjoyed the Vitale football games. He was a five-time winner of the O’Brien Family Washer Tournament. He was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Cubs, Bulls and Blackhawks.

Mr. O’Brien was a member of Brownsburg Lodge #241 Free & Accepted Masons. He traveled the world with his job and had an appreciation for the little things in life: A well-written story, a good cigar, traveling with his family and the art of grilling no matter what the weather was outside. He will be missed by all who loved him.
