Per her wishes, cremation services will be provided by the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2091 N. Oakland Ave., Decatur.

Mrs. Koehler was born Sept. 18, 1928, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of the late Anthony and Hulda M. Schmidt Timmerman. She married Paul E. Koehler on May 2, 1954, in Bryan, Ohio.

She is survived by the love of her life of 67 years, her husband Paul Koehler; her three daughters, Brenda (Michael) Delaney, Diana (John Lake) Vestal and Alice (Dennis) Myers; her seven grandchildren, Shannon Delaney, Jennifer Delaney, Steven (Bethany) Vestal, Stacy (Keven Rowland) Vestal, Kristin (Ben) Gray, Bret (Natalie) Dilts and Derek Dilts; four great-grandchildren, Lucy and Sam Vestal and Aurora and Jasper Dilts; her three sisters, Rose, Toni and A.J.; and extended family in Belgium.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Mr. and Mrs. Koehler were able to do many things together, including travel to almost all of the states and 35 countries, dancing everywhere. She loved to sew and crochet, making hats that she donated to Cancer Care of Decatur and gave to her care givers at Randall Residence. She also loved to sing. She sang in the choir at the Presbyterian Church in Paris and was in a performing group with her sisters when they were young.

The family expresses appreciation to the staff at Randall Residence and St. Mary’s Hospital for all the care they gave her.
