Morris William Haupt, 65, formerly of Paris, died peacefully in his sleep April 20, 2022, at his residence near Atlanta, Georgia.

No services were held.

Mr. Haupt was born June 15, 1956, at Danville, the son of Ray Donald Haupt and Thelma Louise Kelsheimer Haupt and resided in Paris.

He is survived by his brother, Michael (Beth Ahola) Haupt of Georgia; his sister, Cheryl Haupt (Jeff) Dennis of Georgia; his brother, Tony Haupt of Paris; his stepmother, Nancy Foote of Paris; and many cousins, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews living in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Iowa, Minnesota, New Mexico, Colorado, Oregon and Georgia.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Haupt briefly lived in Terra Haute, Ind., before returning to Paris and graduating from Paris High School in 1974. He attended Lake Land College in Mattoon and worked construction in Charleston until moving to Georgia in 1979.

Following the move to Georgia, he worked in home and pool construction, as an art framer, a commercial baggage handler at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson airport, as a commercial cross-country semi-truck driver and was an amateur photographer. Some of his photography and drawings earned recognition while he attended college and after he moved to Georgia.
