Nancy Bonwell Waggoner Leeman, 87 of Chrisman, passed from this life to her Heavenly home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at the home of her daughter.

A graveside service is 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at Friends Chapel Cemetery with Richard Faust officiating and Eastern Star rites. Templeton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born September 1, 1935 on a farm in Scottland, Illinois.  She was the second born child of Robert Bertram Bonwell and Katherine Carol (Hess) Bonwell.  She married Jack Waggoner and they had four children. He preceded her in death.  She then married Randal Leeman, and he preceded her death.  Later in life, she met a special friend Ed Worthington, and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include four children, Susan (John Ecker) Waggoner of Chrisman, Grant (Terri) Waggoner of Chrisman, Christel (Eric) Strandberg of Paris and Rachel (Troy) Craig of Chrisman; siblings, Eddie Bonwell, Betty Paps and Carol Yaw; her nine grandchildren, who affectionately called her Mema, Uriah (Stacey) Twigg, Bret (Nick) Cearlock, Erin Myers, Holly (Mike) Keenan-Callinan, Levi (Jess) Keenan, Chloe (Greg Smith) Strandberg, Ivy Strandberg, Quinton (Blake) Craig, and Sheyenne (Eric Schwenke) Craig; and her ten great grandchildren, Justice Brown, Cameron Carpenter, Corbin Twigg, Elsie Cearlock, Mack Cearlock, Hattie Cearlock, Remi Myers, Lennox Myers, Theodore Slaughter and Brynnleigh Craig.

She was preceded in death by her sister Peggy Link.

Mrs. Leeman was a graduate of Scottland High School.  She was a member of Friends Chapel Church and the Goldwing Riders Association.  She was a 57 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, joining the Scottland chapter in June 1965; that chapter merged with Paris Chapter 7 in 2007.

She worked hard throughout her lifetime; she was employed by Goding Shoe Factory, Zenith Corp. and Sony.  She and her husband Randy were the caretakers for Friends Chapel Cemetery for ten years.

Mrs. Leeman loved gardening, quilting, attending family reunions, going to Arthur, to the Amish stores and eating at the Amish buffet in Chesterville.  She also enjoyed going on trips with her late husband Randy on their Goldwing, especially to the southern states.

She loved spending time with her family and friends and will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by all.

Memorial donations may be made to the Order of The Eastern Star Chapter 7.
