Nancy Ellen Secondino, 86, Paris, passed away at 3:51 a.m. EST Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Providence Health Care in St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind. She was a former employee of the Illinois Auction Commission, Vermilion Feed and the Edgar County Clerk and Recorder’s Office.

A service celebrating her life is 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2023, at Templeton Funeral Home. Burial follows in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute, Ind. A visitation is held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Secondino was born July 1, 1936, in Edgar County, the daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret Davis Wieland. She married John Franklin Secondino and he preceded her in death on Sept. 13, 2004.

Survivors include a son, Brad (Amy) Secondino of Paris; two brothers, Robert “Weegie” Wieland and Richard “Rick” Wieland both of Paris; a granddaughter, Johna Rose (Bobby) Agnew of West Terre Haute, Ind.; her great-grandson and best friend, Corbin Bradley Agnew and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, LeRoy and Ronnie Wieland.

Mrs. Secondino will be remembered as a busy, energetic and outgoing person. She was elected to several terms as Elbridge Township Supervisor and was an active member and volunteer for the Edgar County Historical Society.

She also enjoyed memberships in the Red Hat Society, the East Central Illinois Bluebird Society, and 100 Women Who Care. She was a willing hard worker for many charitable causes.

Mrs. Secondino was an avid paving brick collector and had been active in the International Brick Collectors Association for years and loved attending brick swap meets with friends.

In her spare time, she enjoyed flower gardening and feeding hummingbirds. She embraced her role as a farm wife and loved cooking for others.

More than anything, she cherished time spent with her beloved family and centered her life around them.

Memorial donations may be made to the Edgar County Historical Society.
