RENSSELEAR, Ind. — Norma J. Herron, 85, of Brook, Ind., passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka, Ill.

A funeral service is noon Saturday, Jan. 8, at Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer, with Rick Gerts officiating. Interment follows at Oakland Cemetery, Morocco, Ind. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Herron was born Dec. 25, 1936, in Paris, the daughter of the late Clifford and Irma Good Maynard. She married Floyd Herron in June 1981 in Paris, and he preceded her in death in 2018. 

She is survived by her children, Kent (Gail) Sisson, Christie (Rick) Smart and Scott (Kirsten Anderson) Sisson, all of Morocco, Ind.; grandchildren, Kelly (Kevin) Cochran of Rensselaer, Cole (Jenn) Sisson of New York, Brandi Sisson of Chicago and Erika (Tyler) Logsdon of Demotte, Ind.; step-grandchildren, Mindy and Brice; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Cody, Gabby, Ty, Evey, Chase, Kaci and Kaylee; and sister, Brenda (Dorley) Dodd of Pontiac, Ill.

Mrs. Herron attended and graduated from Paris High School. She was a homemaker, taking care of her household and family. Prior to that she worked as a waitress. 

She was a member of the Christian Church of Morocco and the Nevins Christian Church.  She liked to sew and cross-stitch.  She also enjoyed going out for a nice meal.

Mrs. Herron’s grandchildren were her life, and she spent as much time with them as she could. She cherished her family, and they will miss her dearly.

Memorial donations may be made to the Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis.
