Norma Rardin

Norma Jean Rardin, 89, of Kansas, passed away at 9:28 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2022, at her residence.

A graveside service is 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Fairview Cemetery in Kansas, with the Rev. Phil Tribby officiating and burial follows. Templeton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rardin was born Feb. 12, 1933, in Kansas, the daughter of the late Willis A. and Mary L. Pine Bell. She married Pierce E. Rardin on Oct. 4, 1958, in Charleston. He preceded her in death Sept. 15, 2013.

 Survivors include four children, Sherry (Mike) Simpson of Kansas, Brian (Penny) Rardin of Dietrich, Kim Brookins of Kansas and Ed Rardin (Jacob Bilvin) of Kansas; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Kristen) Rardin, Brad (Jessica) Rardin, Blaine Rardin (Maria), Chris Bell, Kelly (Gabriel) Boedecker, Korey Simpson, Kody Simpson, Jodee Brookins (Andrew) and Nick Brookins; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Fletcher.

She was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sue Bell; an infant son, Joe; a brother, Wayne Bell; an infant brother, Billy Bell; and a grandson, Tony Bell.

Mrs. Rardin was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church of Charleston. She enjoyed sewing, baking, reading and Sudoku, and loved spending time with her family.

Memorial donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
