Sandra Lynn Clark, 78, of Paris, passed away at 7:09 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at Horizon Health Paris Community Hospital. She was retired after more than 45 years as a registered nurse with Paris Community Hospital/Family Medical Center. She was director of nursing at the time of her retirement.
A service celebrating her life is 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at Templeton Funeral Home. Burial follows in Edgar Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Clark was born Feb. 8, 1943, in Paris, the daughter of the late Clarence and Frances Blair Clearwater. She married the love of her life, Ray Allen Clark, on June 27, 1964, in Paris. He preceded her in death Oct. 14, 2018.
Survivors include two children, Andy (Ginger) Clark of Brownsburg, Ind., and Julie (John) Crowe of Paris; a sister, Carolyn Zook of Indianapolis, Ind.; two grandchildren, Maddie Clark and Jagger Crowe; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Robert Clearwater.
Mrs. Clark was a very devoted caregiver who began her nursing career as a candy striper at the old Paris Hospital at the age of 13. She was a graduate of Barnes School of Nursing in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church of Paris. She will be remembered as a caring and giving person who put the needs of others ahead of her own.
