Aug. 3, at 7:10 a.m., a two-vehicle, non-injury accident occurred at state Route 16 and Jasper Street. The first vehicle involved was a 2018 Lincoln owned by Michael D. Martin of Paris and driven by Karson M. Martin, 20. The second vehicle was a 2022 Subaru driven by David M. Schmieder, 49, Charleston. Both vehicles were damaged. No citations were issued at the time of the accident.
Aug. 4, at 4 p.m., Deandre M. Mason, 31, Forrest City, Ark., was stopped on Jasper Street, adjacent to McDonald’s and cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and expired registration. Mason was released on a notice to appear in court.
The public is reminded that all people arrested, or otherwise charged, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
