July 22, at 11:31 a.m., Toby J. Cash, 45, Oakland, was issued city ordinance citation 93.76-tall weeds and grass for his property at 402 East Blackburn Street.

 July 22, at 11:45 a.m., Rowan C. Hartley, 19, 301 Jackson, was issued city ordinance citation 93.76-tall grass and weeds. Hartley was given a city court date.

July22, at 5:28 p.m., Gentury L. Swyear, 32, 510 N. Jefferson, was issued city ordinance citation 98.25-vaccinations required and 98.29-dangerous dog at large. Swyear was given a city court date.

Paris Fire Department

July 16, at 9:19 a.m., the department was dispatched to 112 North Main for a gas odor. Firefighters found a problem with the furnace.

July 16, at 10:42 a.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

July 16, at 11:49 a.m., the department was dispatched for a report of something burning in the road at 101 North Central in front of The Prairie Press. Firefighters were canceled after the chief arrived on the scene, and it was determined something fell from a passing automobile and presented no danger.

July 17, at 1:45 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

July 17, at 5:49 p.m., the department was dispatched to CVS pharmacy for the smell of something burning. Firefighters discovered a problem with a belt on an air conditioning unit.

July 17, at 8:18 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

July 19, at 2:18 a.m., the department was dispatched to the Save A Lot grocery store for a report of flames and heavy smoke at the back of the building. On scene, firefighters found the building’s load dock fully involved. The fire was investigated by the Illinois State Fire Marshal and an arson arrest was made later in the morning.

July 19, at 11:03 a.m., the department was dispatched to Simonton Windows for an automatic alarm. The call was canceled en route. The alarm company was present and working on the system.

July 19, at 12:36 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

July 19, at 1:35 p.m., the department was dispatched to assist with water main breaks on Jasper Street.

July 20, at 1:53 p.m., the department was dispatched to 709 Boydston for an activated smoke detector. On scene, it was determined the detector was faulty.

July 21, at 3:26 a.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

July 21, at 11:03 a.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

July 22, at 1:31 a.m., the department was dispatched to Paris Healthcare, 1011 North Main to investigate a smell of smoke. No problems were found.

July 23, no time provided, the department was dispatched to Soleil Body Salon, 500 West Jasper, for a report of the smell of an electrical fire. On scene, firefighters traced the problem to a box fan.
