Home death ruled a suicide

Edgar County Coroner Scott Barrett has ruled the manner of death for Shawnna L. Cunningham as a suicide. The cause of death is a self-inflicted gunshot wound. 

The 44-year-old was found deceased at her Lafayette Street residence in Kansas at 2:40 p.m.  Monday, Sept 18.

An autopsy was conducted Sept. 19 in Champaign by forensic pathologist Shiping Bao. 

The Kansas Police Department and the Illinois State Police CSI assisted the coroner with the investigation.
