PARIS—The Edgar County Highway Department has announced the substantial completion of the new Camp Bridge on County Highway 16 (Conlogue Road) in Grandview Township, allowing the roadway to reopen to through traffic later this month.

The bridge replacement project, which involved replacing the aging Camp Bridge structure, has been in development since December 2016 and was funded through the federal Illinois Special Bridge Program, according to County Engineer Aaron Lawson.

Conlogue Road between 250th Road and 400th Road is scheduled to reopen to all through traffic beginning Friday, July 24.

While the bridge is substantially complete and traffic will be allowed to resume, the highway department said some off-road work remains. Final grading, seeding and other miscellaneous tasks will continue over the coming months, with the project expected to reach final completion later this fall.
