CHRISMAN—The Chrisman Area Community Club has announced several upcoming events aimed at bringing residents together, including a community cookout and bingo night, citywide yard sales and a pancake and sausage breakfast.
The first event on the calendar is the club’s Free Bingo Night on Friday, Aug. 21, under the shelter at Chrisman City Park. A cookout featuring hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies and drinks will begin at 6 p.m. for a free-will offering, with bingo following at 6:30 p.m. The event is open to everyone.
The club will then sponsor the community’s citywide yard sales on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11-12. Residents who would like their sale included on the official community listing and map should contact Kay Fidler at 217-712-1792 or 217-269-2792. Participants are asked to provide their name, phone number and the address of their yard sale. Text messages are acceptable if necessary.
The deadline to be included on the yard sale map is Monday, Sept. 7.
Wrapping up the weekend, the Chrisman Area Community Club will host its annual Pancake & Sausage Breakfast on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 7 to 10 a.m., or until food runs out, at the Chrisman Fire Station, located on the south side of the square.
Breakfast will be offered on a free-will donation basis, with proceeds benefiting the community club and its ongoing efforts to provide events and activities for local residents.
The Chrisman Area Community Club encourages community members to attend the events, support local organizations and enjoy fellowship with friends and neighbors throughout the season.
