Coming soon to Edgar County...

The Prairie Press Edgar County Area Community Guide arrives in 2025

Posted

Beginning in 2025, everyone in Edgar County will have a new, easy-to-use and comprehensive resource at their fingertips.

The Prairie Press’ first-ever Edgar County Area Community Guide aims to be an exhaustive directory of every business, organization, resource and attraction available in and around the local communities The Prairie Press serves. As a print publication, the Community Guide will be the perfect guide for tourists, a trusted resource for locals and a helpful tool connecting people across the county with the services they seek.

According to Ben Lueken, local businessman and owner of The Prairie Press, the Community Guide is the next step in shaping the Press into a reliable resource for local information.

“We want to be the go-to source for news and information in Edgar County,” Lueken said. “This will be a building process as we try to get 100 percent participation amongst the companies and businesses of our county.”

In addition to a high-quality, glossy print publication, all of the information in the Edgar County Area Community Guide will be available online at www.prairiepress.net as part of the Prairie Press Marketplace, a page launching soon as a completely free resource for anyone to access. The Community Guide and the Prairie Press Marketplace will offer businesses, non-profits and everything in between a chance to connect with their respective communities through highly customizable online listings.

With the help of the Prairie Press Marketplace, users can search a listing, see business hours, look up directions, find contact information, view upcoming events and more.

In the same way that The Prairie Press seeks to connect its readers with timely and reliable local news, the Edgar County Community Guide offers a way to inform people in Edgar County and beyond of the wealth of resources available in their own backyard. Most importantly, a listing in the Edgar County Area Community Guide is totally free – there is no charge to submit your business or organization’s information and have it included for thousands to see.

The Edgar County Area Community Guide will hit mailboxes in early 2025, with the launch of the Prairie Press Marketplace planned to take place around the same time. Copies will also be available for purchase at The Prairie Press office, located at 101 North Central Avenue in Paris.

If you have a business or organization, big or small, please visit prairiepress.net/submissions and fill out the Edgar County Area Community Guide Information Form completely free.
