Effective Dec. 1, 2024, the Edgar County Housing Authority will open its new Administration Office, located at 230 S High Street in Paris. They will also be extending their hours of operation by staying open an hour longer each weekday to help better serve the community. Hours of operation will be 8 a.m to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The new location will serve all of the needs of those who currently live at any of the department’s development locations, such as turning in requested paperwork, making rent payments, etc.
Individuals and families interested in housing can go to the new location to inquire about availability and pick up or turn in housing applications.
The office that is currently located in the High Rise will be closed and the after hours payment drop box will be moved.
The Edgar County Housing Authority has opened the waitlist for the Section 8 housing voucher program.
Anyone interested, should stop by the new Administration Office and pick up a Section 8 application.
The waitlist for the program does not open up very often.
