Sydney Landes, daughter of local business owner Mick Landes, traveled to Lincoln Park Speedway Saturday, May 6, and May 13, for dirt track racing. Landes had outstanding nights both times with a fourth-place and second-place finish.

In recent drag racing and circle track events, local racers found themselves at the top.

Levi Keenen recently drove his alcohol-powered Illinois Thunder funny car to victory lane at Edgewater Sports Park winning the Nitro Chaos event on May 5.

Sydney Landes has also had great finishes at Lincoln Park Speedway recently.

On May 13, Landes qualified first in her group. She started first in her heat and finished second. In the feature, she started fifth and drove her car to a second-place finish.

On May 7, Landes qualified second in her heat but started first and finished second. In the feature, she started first and finished fourth.

On April 29, Chris Walker saw success on the drag strip racing his Camaro to victory in the Pro Class at Wabash Valley Dragway.
