Donald Joseph Mattingly, 86, of Paris, went home to be with the Lord at 5:35 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022. He was a retired farmer.
A graveside service is 11 a.m. Thursday, July21, at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Mr. Mattingly was born April 19, 1936, in Brocton, the son of the late Bernard and Agnes Carroll Mattingly. He was married to Nancy Peddycoart from 1963 to 1971. In 1981, he married Barbara Jean and she survives.
He is survived by his daughter, Shanda (Robert) St. Clair of Bartlett, Tenn.; his stepchildren, Jack (Karen) Miller of Port Richey, Fla., Randy (Lorilee) Miller of St. Cloud, Fla., Gary Miller of Memphis, Ind., Jacqueline (Gary) Todd of Oakland; his brother, Patrick Mattingly of Brocton; his sister, Carol (Damon) Johnson of Brocton; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Mattingly McIntosh.
Mr. Mattingly served his country as a member in the Army National Guard. After retirement, he enjoyed watching NASCAR and golf. He was also a longtime and active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
