Jody Deanene Martin, 57, of Marshall, passed away at 9:48 a.m. EST Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind. She was retired after having taught special education for many years at Shiloh, Marshall, Paris, and Gibault Schools.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. Interment follows in Edgar Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #211. A visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 4, 1965, in Robinson, the daughter of Ronald G. and Brenda L. Wait Fouty. She married Kevin A. Martin on June 27, 2010, in Marshall, and he survives.
Other survivors include her mother, Brenda L. Fouty of Merom, Ind.; a brother, Jeffrey Fouty of Merom; two daughters, Charla (Tommy) Presley of Abilene, Texas, and Jessica (Billie) Hendrickson of Indianapolis, Ind.; two stepchildren, Kurtis (Amanda) Martin and Brittany (James) Cheesman both of Paris; nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob, Jossalyn, Emma, Alice, Daphne, Jocelyn, Brysen, and Earl; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald L. Fouty, and by her twin sister, Jamie D. Inboden.
Mrs. Martin was a member of the Oliver United Methodist Church and the Paris Elks Club. She was also a veteran of the United States Army.
She enjoyed trap shooting, bowling, fishing, and above all else she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Memorial donations may be made to the Oliver United Methodist Church or to the church or charity of the donor’s choice.
