Mary Burba

Mary Elizabeth Burba, 100, of Paris, passed away at 11:39 p.m. Friday Nov. 6, 2020, at Paris Community Hospital/Horizon Health in Paris. She was a homemaker after she retired from Zenith.

A funeral service is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home. A live stream of the service will be on the funeral home website for those who cannot attend in person, and a link will be provided in the obituary closer to service date. Burial follows in Edgar Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to Tuscany’s after the services.

In keeping with federal mandates due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, everyone is asked to be patient and abide by the state regulation of 25 visitors with masks allowed inside the funeral home. Everyone is welcome, but all are asked to keep visits short so that all who wish to pay their respects may do so

Mrs. Burba was born Nov. 4, 1920, in Hodgenville, Ky., the daughter of the late Ollie and Meda Ann Gore Wheeler. She married Logan Burba April 1, 1939, in Elizabethtown, Ky. He passed away Dec. 13, 1994.

She is survived by her children, Judy (Fenton) Cash of Paris, Smoke (Marcia) Burba of Paris,   Jean Ann (Kenny) Keifer of Cassopolis, Mich.;13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and her companion of 20 years “Little D.”

She is preceded in death by her children, Gerald Burba, Carolyn Johnson and Janet Stepp; her siblings, Maupin Wheeler, Sam Wheeler, Raymond Otto Wheeler, Alma Elkins and Catherine Pottinger; one grandson; and one great-grandson.  

Mrs. Burba was a member of Lake Ridge Christian Church.

Memorial donations may be made to Lake Ridge Christian Church or Shriners Hospital for Children.
