Susannah May “Sue” Parrish Hooker, 96, of Paris, passed away at 6:20 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, at Paris Health & Rehab Center. She was a devoted homemaker.

A graveside service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021, at Edgar Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Dixon officiating. Burial follows. Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at Templeton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hooker was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Paris, the daughter of the late Willard and Dorothy Ann Morris Parrish. She married Ralph Edward Hooker on Aug. 28, 1943, in Henderson, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on Sept. 29, 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Ann (Darryl) Thomason of Maumee, Ohio, and Kimberly Sue (Michael) Herchman of Paris; a brother, Ronald “Bud” Parrish of Bradenton, Fla.; four grandchildren, Patrick and Jeff Thomason both of Maumee, Parish Thomason of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Sascha Herchman of Paris; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Stanley, and a sister, Mary Flowers.

Mrs. Hooker was a member of First Christian Church of Paris where she had enjoyed participating in the former Shalom Circle. She had also attended First Baptist Church.

She was a talented cook who was famous for her gravy. She loved shopping with her family and also enjoyed watching television, reading her Bible and caring for her cockatiel, Buddy.
