The Paris High School boys and girls tennis team hosted the 2024 PHS Tennis Open, a one-day tournament for local tennis players, Saturday, July 6.
Competition winners received gift cards to local restaurants, including two graciously donated by Rocky’s Italian Bistro and Savoia’s Pizza. The competition saw its best turnouts since pre-COVID tournaments, raising more than $300 in entry fees and donations.
In the high school girls’ division, junior Shelby Fry took first place, followed by Natalie Burger in second and Taylyr Fudge in third.
For the high school boys, Eli Brinkerhoff was the champion, defeating Karson Landsaw who took second, while Zichen Song took third.
An adult men’s division included six former Paris High School singles players, among others. Jacob Graham defeated Jacob Randolph in the championship in a rematch of last year’s final and Marcus Mitchell finished in third place.
