PHS Wrestling starts off the season with exciting home win

For the second straight year, wrestling fans gathered at Paris High School for the Tigers’ season home opener against Charleston on Wednesday, Nov. 29. The PHS wrestling program, led by head coach Seth Rohrbach, is entering its second season.

The Tigers boast seven returning varsity wrestlers out of 14 weight classes. Paris started off the season on the right foot, earning an exhilarating win in front of an electric crowd at a score of 44-33.

Receiving forfeits were, at 106 pounds, Anna Muchow, at 120 pounds, Paisley Reed, at 157 pounds, Eli Brinkerhoff, at 165 pounds, Robert Wells, and at 190 pounds Aubrey Wilson.

Picking up additional wins for the Tigers were Harris Romero III at 144 pounds, Carson Kollmon at 150 pounds and Ethan Curl at 215 pounds.

The Tigers are on the road this weekend, heading to Lawrenceville to participate in the Lawrenceville Tournament. The first match begins today, Dec. 2, at 9:00 a.m.
