Jan. 13, at 5:01 a.m., Ryan M. Sexton, 19, 630 Hannah Ave., was cited at the East Lake with possession of cannabis in a motor vehicle under 21 years of age. Sexton was released on a notice to appear in court.

Jan. 13, at 3:48 p.m., Dustin P. Farris, 43, Mattoon, was stopped at Central and Elizabeth and charged with driving while license suspended. Farris was released on a notice to appear in court.

Jan. 13, at 8:57 p.m., Hailey M. Schaefer, 20, 301 Buena Vista, was stopped at Crawford and Central and charged with operating a vehicle without insurance and improper display of registration. Schaefer was released on a notice to appear in court.

Paris Fire Department

Jan. 7, at 10:24 a.m., the department was dispatched to AeroGen-TEK, 2121 S. Main Street, for a possible problem inside the building. On scene, no issues were found.

Jan. 7, at 7:27 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Jan. 7, at 9:15 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Jan. 8, at 2:57 a.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Jan. 8, at 5:18 a.m., the department was dispatched to Super 8, 11642 Illinois Route 1 for an activated alarm. On scene, it was determined cigarette smoke caused the alarm.

Jan. 8, at 11:40 a.m., the department was dispatched to 306 W. Adams for a possible electrical issue. No problems were found.

Jan. 8, at 4:18 p.m., the department was dispatched to 14109 E 200th Road for a reported fire. On scene, the rubble pile from a demolished 2-1/2 story house caught fire from sparks from a nearby smaller fire. The Oliver Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District also responded to the call.

Jan. 9, at 1:18 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Jan. 9, at 6:17 p.m. the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Jan. 10, at 4:14 p.m., the department was dispatched to the Hampton Inn, 2606 South Main for an investigation. No further details were available.

Jan. 11, at 10:29 a.m., the department was dispatched to 700 East Wood for a water leak. The water line froze and service was shut off pending repairs.

Jan. 11, at 8:55 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Jan. 12, at 7:56 a.m., the department was dispatched to 512 West Madison for a natural gas explosion. On scene, heavy damage was done to the home. The case is being investigated by Ameren and the Illinois State Fire Marshal.

Jan. 12, at 10:52 a.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

Jan. 12, at 1:05 p.m., the department was dispatched to U.S. 150 and 1900 E for a one-vehicle accident. Firefighters assisted the Vermilion Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District and the Horizon Health ambulance with one patient and checked the vehicle for hazards. Firefighters stood by at the scene until released by a deputy.

Jan. 12, at 10:54 p.m., firefighters responded to a call that came to the station about a problem with a gas fireplace at #6 Hidden Court. The problem was traced to a switch that was left on.

Jan. 13, r 4:57 p.m., the department was dispatched to a possible illegal burn on Edgar Street, north of the tennis courts. Firefighters found an unattended fire and extinguished it.

Jan. 14, at 7:31 a.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.
