Paris Elks Lodge #812 held its annual night of giving Tuesday, Nov. 21, giving more than $14,000 to various community organizations.

Among the recipients are Altrusa, Edgar County Animal Shelter, Choices Pregnancy Center, Christmas for Kids, Edgar County Diabetes Association, ECCF – Do It, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Faith in Action, Food Pantry, Edgar County Friends of Law Enforcement, Paris American Legion Post 211, Paris Ministerial Fellowship, Paul Warner Animal Rescue, Salvation Army, Shop with a Cop, Nurses Baskets and Paris American Legion Women’s Auxiliary.

“We do this every year around Thanksgiving time,” lodge member Brian Blair said. “It is a really wonderful thing to be a part of, and it is a great feeling to know you are supporting people in your community.”

The Paris Elks Lodge receives funding through membership fees, donations, fundraising and grants. Two grants and fundraising provided the funding for the money distributed during the night of giving.
