Two Paris residents were apprehended by the Coles County Sheriff’s Department earlier this week after a side-by-side UTV was reported missing.

Andrew Towell, 40, and Katelynn Bowman, 27, were arrested Wednesday, Nov. 29, and charged with theft of property exceeding $10,000 in value. The UTV, the object of the theft, was first reported stolen Tuesday, Nov. 26. The vehicle was later recovered and returned to its rightful owner in Ashmore.

Following a detention hearing, Bowman was released with a notice to appear before the court at a later date. Towell was released to the custody of another agency.

Theft of property exceeding $10,000 in value is a Class 2 Felony according to the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS).
