Unofficial parade returns July 4

The sixth annual unofficial ‘Fourth of July Parade’ will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 4. All vehicles are welcome to participate, including tractors, trucks, cars, side by sides, four wheelers and motorcycles. Participants must display an American flag or decorate for the 250th Celebration. For any questions, contact the parade organizer, Bill Bouslog, at 217-269-2617.

Line-up for the parade begins at 10:30 a.m., at 710 W. Jasper. The parade route is as follows:

Jasper to Jefferson St.

Left on Cherry Point Road.

Right on Blackburn to Main St.

Left to go through Twin Lakes Park

Right back on Main

Left on Steidl

Right on High St. through Brookstone, continue right on High St. to Union, left to Clinton Road.

Left to Allenwood, then right to Wood St.

Right to Eads

Left to Court St.

Right to High St.

Left to Highrise around the parking lot

Back to High St.

Left to Jasper and return to the starting point
