May 18, at 4 p.m., David L. Kiger, 72, 224 N. Austin, was issued city ordinance citations for excessive vegetation height and outdoor accumulation of junk. Kiger was given a city court date.

May 18, at 4 p.m., Daniel B. Kiger, 46, 221 N. Austin, was issued city ordinance citations for excessive vegetation, wind blown debris, outdoor accumulation of junk and specified and unspecified nuisances. Kiger was given a city court date.

May 18, at 11:40 p.m., Nathan B. Shear, 31, Paris, was arrested on Main Street on a Coles County failure to appear warrant and transported to the Edgar County Jail, pending extradition to Coles County. The failure to appear warrant was issued without a bond provision.

May 15, at 10:18 a.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

May 15, at 12:31 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

May 15, at 12:50 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

May 16, at 2:55 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

May 16, at 7:12 p.m., the department was dispatched to Pine Apartments on Court Street for a reported furnace problem. On scene, firefighters advised the tenant to contact the landlord for repairs.

May 16, at 9:32 p.m., the department was dispatched to 617 North Main for a limb on a power pole. Firefighters stood by until an Ameren lineman arrived.

May 17, at 11:24 a.m. the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

May 17, at 1:06 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

May 17, at 3:02 p.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

May 18, at 2:02 a.m., the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

May 18, at 7:01 a.m., the department was dispatched to 413 West Jackson for an activated smoke detector. On scene, it was determined the device was faulty.

May 19, at 7:16 p.m., the department was dispatched to 1900 E and 625 N for a four-wheeler on fire. The Vermilion Station of the Paris Community Fire Protection District also responded to the call.

May 19, at 10:06 p.m., the department was dispatched to Horizon Health for an automatic alarm. The call was canceled en route.

May 20, at 1:45 a.m., the department was dispatched to 517 North Central for a gas odor. On scene, firefighters found a problem with the stove. They shut off gas to the appliance and advised the tenant to contact the landlord for repairs.

May 21, at 8:58 a.m., the department was dispatched to 35 Helen Avenue for an activated smoke detector. On scene, it was determined the device was faulty.

May 21, at 11:55 a.m. the department was dispatched to provide medical assistance.

May 21, at 2:10 p.m., the department was dispatched to the Human Resources Center of Clark and Edgar Counties’ facility behind Paris Community Hospital for an automatic alarm. No problems were found at the location.
