Back-to-School Teacher Breakfast returns August 12

Posted

In accordance with a 74-year tradition, the Paris Area Church Women (PACW) are planning to welcome back teachers 8:30 a.m., Aug. 12, 2024 at Lake Ridge Christian Church in Paris.

The Back-to-School Continental Teacher Breakfast began under the leadership of the PACW in 1949 and has only missed one year since then. The breakfast was canceled in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The PACW looks forward to hosting its 75th annual breakfast in 2025.

Taking charge this year is the First Christian Church, with efforts spearheaded by Faye Eitel, Bev McCain and committee. Other area church representatives involved hail from First Baptist Church, First United Methodist Church, Lake Ridge Christian Church, Otterbein United Methodist, Presbyterian Church of Paris, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Aloysius Catholic Church and Vermilion United Methodist Church.

Paris Union School District 95’s new Superintendent Mary Morgan Ryan will introduce new staff and announce new updates and changes for the upcoming school year. Teachers and staff members from Paris CUSD 4 will also participate.

All local teachers, local school board members, clergy and regional superintendents are invited to attend. The PACW will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11 to set up. Coffee cakes can be brought at that time.

“We look forward to a successful school year and excellence,” a PACW press release reads.
