What’s your name? Your grade? Where do you attend school?

Harlie Monique Parker, senior, Kansas high school.

 

What is(are) your favorite subject(s)? What draws you to that subject?

Art – I’ve always loved to draw. Drawing takes me to my own world.

Science/Zoology – I have a love for animals and how things work.

 

What extracurricular activities are you involved in (clubs, sports, volunteer efforts)? Why?      

I did free face painting at the park every Thursday, I also did the cat mural at the library with some help! It all has to do with art.

 

What is your dream job?

My dream job is to be a tattoo artist.

 

What is your favorite snack food?      

Gushers and twinkies.

 

Dream vacation spot?

Bora Bora.

 

What is a piece of media (book, movie, TV show, video game) you think everyone should experience?

The movie Someone Great; it shows you how you have to move on and not stay stuck.

 

What is your favorite memory from this school year so far?

The homecoming assembly.

 

Who is a teacher, staff member, or coach who has made a positive impact on you? How did they do it?

AJ Alexander, My truancy officer. He helped to motivate me and wouldn’t let me give up.

 

What is your advice to your younger self?

Don’t listen to anyone’s negativity.

 

What does your family look like? Do you have any siblings?

My dad, mom and two siblings. Todd, Dawn, Gunnar and Zoie Parker.

 

Do you have any pets? What is your favorite type of pet?

I have four dogs and one cat, my favorite type of pet is Turtles.

 

What accomplishments are you most proud of?

Doing something with my art that matters.

 

What’s your favorite restaurant?

Olive Garden.

 

If you could go to lunch with anyone, from any part of history, who would it be and why?

Marilyn Monroe. I’ve always adored her.

 

What is something you’ve always wanted to try? Why?

Swimming with dolphins, I love them.

 

If you could send a message to the entire world, what would it be?

Stop being so mean, one interaction you have could make or break someone’s day.

 

  What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

You are not a tree, move!
