This pile of debris is all that is left of the derelict building at 524 Prairie Street, Paris. Bell & Bell Demolition dropped the building during the morning of Wednesday, Aug. 16. Trucking away the remains is the next part of the project. The property on Prairie is the first of five buildings Bell & Bell has contracted with the city to demolish.

Hume’s United Methodist Church building was built in 1883 and served as a place of worship for generations until June of 2023 when the church held its final service. The grand building will be demolished by the remaining members of the church later this year.
